Easter sewing

The days I was home in lovely Sandefjord I got to sew again. Ten whole weeks with laboratory experiments and school work without sewing, and above all that getting a new sewing machine as well! So when I finally got time I made this..

4, 3, 2, 1...

School haven't started full time yet, and I don't work as much now at the shopping center as before with the Christmas rush so I have a lot more free time then usual. So what have I been doing? Sewing. And it's a thrill. Four days, three dresses, two Coco and one Francoise.

Merry Christmas.

This Christmas was the first Christmas I wore something I made myself, and I'm so glad! This years dress was the lovley Kim Dress from By Hand London, I'm naming it the Mushu dress from Mulan. With the perfect wine red colored brocade fabric this is the best dress I've ever made I think. I love it, even though it was a challenged sitting in the dress without showing your panties. But that was a sacrifice I was willing to make. Gladly!

The perfect little black dress.

Of course I'm talking about the gorgeous Georgia dress from By Hand London. This pattern I've had for a really long time. I made one dress out of it already but since I made is as a muslin I didn't lengthen the bodice, but grained the size to be a bit bigger around the hips. It fits, but the grained size started at my waist so that was not flattering AT ALL. So I'm glad I made a new little black dress again, and this time I've lengthen the bodice.

Dark purple for winter?

I don't know how it happened, but somehow I manage to have a lot of dark purple fabrics for this winter.. Is it really a winter color? I think its quite pretty, but to think of it I have never own anything purple and the last two dresses I've made is purple? Weird.
